I recently bought the Solarcam T2 Pro for the front of my house. I love the cameras vehicle detection especially. There’s one massive problem with it though. It detects stationary vehicles. It always seems to detect my neighbors cars (and sometimes mine) that are parked and whenever I’m viewing the camera (doesn’t seem to happen when you’re not viewing the camera for some reason but sometimes it does; its sort of weird). I like knowing whenever a car is passing by my house on the road. This feature is a huge help but I really hate how it keeps detecting my neighbors cars or even my own cars parked in my parking guard (another good feature). I was hoping Aosu would see this and hopefully make a change to the AI where it doesn’t detect vehicles that aren’t moving because I’ll likely have to disable it since I keep getting notifications of cars that aren’t moving on my street in the middle of the night.
It sounds like the AI is focusing on object recognition rather than motion detection. The reason it happens more when you’re viewing the live feed is likely because the camera is fully ‘awake,’ and even a tiny change in light or shadows can trigger the AI to re-scan the frame and ‘re-discover’ the parked cars.
Here are two quick fixes you can try right now to save your sanity:
- Refine your Activity Zones: Try redrawing your detection zone
- Adjust Sensitivity: Lowering the sensitivity slightly might help the AI ignore ‘static’ objects that are only being triggered by shifting light/shadows at night.
I’ll definitely pass this feedback along. It’s a great suggestion that would make the Parking Guard feature much more functional!
