Charging Indicator Status

I’ve just installed 3 Aosu 5MP solar powered cameras.
Two of the cameras show a charging icon over a small solar screen, and indicate 100%.
The third camera also shows 100%, but doesn’t show the charging icon.
The third camera has the screen pointed directly at the sun.
This camera did show the charging icon for a few minutes, but it hasn’t reappeared.
Although all three panels indicate 100% charge, I’m wondering if the third camera is actually the only one that is truly at a full charge, and that is why it doesn’t indicate charging?

Please note, the two cameras that indicate they are solar charging have been installed for a week. The third camera/panel was just added this morning, and I charged it via the usb cable before installation.

Most solar-powered cameras (including aosu models) have battery management firmware that:
Stops displaying the icon when the battery is fully charged and no current is needed — this is

:right_arrow: Since the third camera was fully topped up via USB this morning, it likely reached true 100% earlier than the other two, which were still topping off slowly via solar power over the past week.

:high_voltage: Contrast With the Other Two Cameras

  • The other two were installed a week ago and haven’t had a full USB pre-charge, so they’re probably still slowly trickling up to 100%.
  • The charging icon is appearing because there’s still a small current flow.

Note: aosu’s “100%” indicator often rounds up once the battery is ~95–99%, even though the battery isn’t truly full — that could explain why the icon still shows for those two.
