Is there a way to get geofencing enabled with this system? My last system “knew” when I was at home/work and turn off recording when I arrived at home/work.
Hey, Sharaz here. aosu actually has something similar, although it isn’t referred to as “geofencing.”
On aosu, there’s a feature called Smart Security, which you should see on the homepage near “View Multi-Cams.” It gives you several options, including Away Mode, Home Mode, Turn Off Devices, and Turn On Devices. You can select whichever option you need, especially if you have multiple aosu devices.
You can manually activate these modes through the aosu app when you leave or arrive home. Additionally, you can use Alexa or Google Assistant to trigger them, including scheduling commands such as, “Hey Google, execute Home in 30 minutes,” or simply activating the mode immediately.
aosu also offers a subscription that uses AI to recognize faces detected by the cameras. However, at the moment, it doesn’t appear to support using a specific recognized face as a trigger for a particular command or Smart Security mode. For example, having the camera recognize your face and automatically switch to Home Mode. That would definitely be a great feature to have, though!
On the flip side, you actually gave me an idea that I’m going to try. There may be a legitimate workaround using Tasker and AutoInput, where I could create my own location radius/geofence on my phone. When my phone detects that I’ve left or entered that radius, Tasker could potentially trigger the appropriate action in the aosu app automatically in the background.
I’ll have to test whether AutoInput can reliably interact with aosu’s Smart Security controls, but if it can, it could essentially recreate the geofencing functionality that aosu doesn’t currently offer natively.

Thank you so much for the response. I will play with the options you suggested. I had played around with the phone location option as well, but with no luck so far. I had Canary cameras before and that was one of the features that made me not want to leave them. However, with their ever rising recording & alert prices I thought I’d give Aosu a try. I am still undecided even though I’ve now signed up for recording service with Aosu now. I still have a Cafe being monitored by Canary that I need more from. I have a Ring doorbell on my back door that does exactly what I need it to, but would like more at my front door & inside. Monitoring while I am gone is the main idea that I am focused on without triggering everything walking & driving by.
