Request for Home Assistant integration or local API

Hello,

I currently own two AOSU video doorbells, and I am generally satisfied with their hardware and basic operation.

However, my entire home automation system is managed through Home Assistant. Since AOSU does not currently provide an official Home Assistant integration, a documented API, or a local communication option, I am effectively locked into the AOSU cloud and mobile application.

This severely limits the usefulness of the doorbells in my home. I cannot properly integrate doorbell events, motion or person detection, live video, snapshots, battery status, or other notifications into my existing automations and dashboards.

I would therefore like to know whether AOSU plans to offer any of the following:

  • an official Home Assistant integration;

  • a documented local or cloud API;

  • RTSP or ONVIF support for the video stream;

  • local event notifications through MQTT, webhooks, or another open protocol.

I purchased two AOSU devices because the hardware appeared to offer good value and satisfactory performance. Unfortunately, without interoperability, I am now considering replacing both units with products from another manufacturer that supports Home Assistant and local control.

I believe that offering an open API or an official Home Assistant integration would make AOSU products much more attractive to home automation users and would help existing customers keep using their equipment instead of replacing it.

Could you please let me know whether such an integration is planned and, if so, whether you can provide an approximate release schedule?

Like others in this thread, I am requesting a release date or at least a public roadmap for Home Assistant integration.

I have contacted customer support several times but have not received a clear answer. My cameras are getting older, and many technology companies eventually discontinue support for older products. Please clarify your plans and, if official support will end, consider releasing the firmware or documentation needed for third-party integration rather than leaving these devices unusable.

I sincerely hope this can be resolved without involving right-to-repair advocates or a community-funded effort to reverse-engineer functionality that could be made available directly.
