Been using my setup since mid-march.
A L5P Floodlight camera, a C9L solar camera, and two V8E doorbell cameras.
Of these, the C9L has been the most positive. It was able to fully charge itself even in cloudy weather, is responsive whenever anything gets near it, and has produced few to no false positives using its AI detection of people. Most useful is the default position setting that it will always go back to on its own, with the only minor nitpick being that it will try to while I am watching the live view with the camera turned instead of staying where I am viewing until I disconnect.
The doorbell cameras have been quite good as well, although the local Amazon guys seem to be making a game out of sneaking up on it from the side to place a package without being seen. Again using the AI detection features to filter the results, have gotten some false positives during rainstorms but nowhere near as many as cameras without the AI would make. Battery life is great. Fully charged mid March, it is now mid May and they are both above 70%.
Its the L5P floodlight camera that has room for improvement. Seems like the parking detection doesn’t work very well and causes a lot of false positives where something tripped one of the motion detectors, it turned to look, and forgot that my car was parked there sending a notification that it sees a vehicle over and over. Not sure if I need to turn hourly cruise back on to make it work right. It saw me park there, but then forgets that the car was already there. Have also gotten false trips from it in rainstorms. The floodlight works really nice at least, when it sees me it lights up promptly and turns off again when I walk away with a lot less false trips than a plain motion detector.
Would it be possible to give the L5P a default position like the C9S has? That way it stays aimed at an area when the motion detectors aren’t triggered by something.
And finally, the app.
The biggest problem I have with it is that the smart security commands wipe out all of the detection settings on the L5P, and don’t enable person tracking on both the L5P and C9S when going from I’m home to Away mode. I have to remember to manually check the settings on these two.
Is it possible for the app to have different ping sounds for different cameras? I would like certain cameras to make a different detection ping so I can prioritize a response to them vs less urgent detection areas that don’t need to be addressed right away.
