Hi all, has anyone experienced delayed rotation in the external cameras? Could this behaviour be related to network bandwidth or latency? Many thanks in advance
Delayed rotation or slower pan/tilt response on outdoor cameras can sometimes be related to network conditions, especially latency or connection stability rather than just raw bandwidth speed.
A few things that may affect camera rotation responsiveness:
• Weak or unstable Wi-Fi signal to the camera
• Network latency or packet delay
• Heavy network traffic/congestion
• Distance between the camera and router
• Temporary app or firmware issues
You could try checking:
• Wi-Fi signal strength in the camera settings
• Whether the delay happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data
• If the camera responds faster when you are closer to the router
• Whether firmware updates are available
• Restarting the camera and router
It would also help to know:
• Which camera model you’re using
• Whether the delay happens all the time or only occasionally
• Approximately how long the delay is (1–2 seconds vs much longer)
That can help narrow down whether this is expected network latency or something abnormal.
