Q: Will the camera continue recording when the SD card is full?
Picture this: You’ve been away on a much-needed weekend getaway. You receive a notification about some suspicious activity near your backyard, and you rush to check the playback…
Suddenly, a tiny panic sets in: “Wait, I’ve had this camera for months and haven’t cleared the SD card once!” You start wondering if the most critical moment was actually captured or if it was lost in a ‘full storage’ black hole. Your silent protector has been working hard, but is there any room left for the ‘bad guys’?
Has anyone else ever had that “Full Storage” anxiety? What really happens when your SD card reaches its limit?

Yes, Aosu cameras are designed to continue recording even if you’ve run out of storage. This is true for both the units that save to the home hub or the ones saving directly to an SD card. The cameras don’t magically create more storage space, instead overwriting the earliest recorded files. That’s why it’s a good idea to go through the app regularly to save anything important to another device. Take the time to delete unneeded clips too.
If you have an SD card equipped model, this is the reason you should look for cards marketed by reliable brands as “High Endurance.” They’re designed to withstand constant rewriting, where as other cards might get corrupted.
When your camera’s SD card reaches full capacity, it doesn’t stop recording. Instead, it smartly clears space by automatically deleting the oldest saved videos—making room for fresh footage without any manual intervention. This ensures continuous recording, so you never miss a moment, even if you forget to check storage.
When the SD card is full, the camera will continue to record. The new recordings will override the old recordings and you’ll have the new recordings saved.
Oui, bien sûr, la camera aosu continue d’enregistrer, seuls les plus vieux fichiers seront écrasés. Aosu propose de basculer sur l’option du cloud, mais on peut continuer sur la carte SD.
Yes! Please be advised that when the memory of the camera is full, it will automatically override the oldest video recordings so new ones can be saved.

Yes, it will still record if it goes offline, as long as it has power and a memory card installed.
When the connection drops, the camera continues to record locally to the SD card. However, you will not be able to view live footage, receive notifications, or access recordings remotely until the internet connection is restored. Once it reconnects, you can view the stored recordings through the app.
In my experience, no. My camera’s storage recently reached its maximum capacity and simply stopped recording events.
When I press the “Ignore & Overwrite” button in the “Storage Full” details box, the box simply closes with no message and behavior remains unchanged.
I have an issue open with tech support. In the short term interim, I had to manually delete some events to free up enough storage to allow new events to be recorded.
When the storage reaches its maximum capacity, the camera should normally overwrite the oldest recordings automatically once the “Ignore & Overwrite” option is enabled. Since it seems the setting didn’t take effect on your device, it’s good that you’ve already opened a case with technical support.
For faster assistance and more detailed troubleshooting, we recommend contacting our Online Support Team directly. They can check your device logs and help resolve the issue more efficiently.

In the meantime, manually deleting some events to free up space (as you did) is a good temporary workaround so the camera can continue recording new events.
