How many cameras can be added to the HomeBase?

Can other AOSU cameras (doorbell & indoor) be added to the HomeBase that came with the outdoor solar cameras?

Good day,

As of now, AOSU’s HomeBase is not a universal hub for all their cameras. The HomeBase that comes with the outdoor solar cameras only supports the cameras it was designed to pair with, typically just those included in the kit or compatible add-ons from the same line.

So unfortunately, you can’t add AOSU doorbell or indoor cameras to that same HomeBase, because they usually connect directly to Wi-Fi and aren’t designed to integrate with the HomeBase system.

Each AOSU device type (outdoor, doorbell, indoor) generally runs independently through the app, even though they all appear in the same dashboard.

Let me know what specific models you’re working with, AOSU doesn’t always make this super clear, and I can help confirm compatibility.

All the best,
S.S

I have a similar question. I asked the chatbot on AOSU site (it’s the weekend) and it said if I had SolarCam D1 Classic I can only add the same camera, however on Amazon I’m looking at the: AOSU 2K Add-on Camera, and it says “Requires WirelessCam/SolarCam HomeBase (NOT Doorbell HomeBase)” so it almost sounds like it might be compatible.

Here is link: Amazon.com : AOSU 2K Add-on Camera, Requires WirelessCam/SolarCam HomeBase (NOT Doorbell HomeBase) : Electronics

That one is not solar, but I’m not sure if it can be added to my homebase for the SolarCam D1. I only have 2 cameras and homebase can have 4. Just hate to deal with returns.

Thanks,

You’re absolutely right to check carefully before buying, AOSU’s product compatibility can be a little unclear.

Based on what the AOSU support chatbot told you, the SolarCam D1 Classic is designed to only pair with other SolarCam D1 Classic cameras. However, the Amazon listing for the AOSU 2K Add-on Camera says it requires a “WirelessCam/SolarCam HomeBase (NOT Doorbell HomeBase),” which makes it sound like it could work but this doesn’t specifically confirm compatibility with the SolarCam D1 Classic HomeBase.

Here’s the key thing:
AOSU seems to separate their camera lines WirelessCam Series and SolarCam Series and while the product title suggests possible overlap, unless the camera specifically mentions “SolarCam D1 Classic” in its compatible models, there’s a risk it won’t pair correctly.

Since returns are a hassle, I’d strongly suggest:

  1. Checking your HomeBase model number (usually listed underneath or in the app) and matching it to the requirements of that add-on camera.
  2. If unsure, contacting AOSU support directly on the AOSU app, you tend to get a quicker response there, to get a precise answer before ordering. (include your homebase number)

Ask to speak to Julie, one of the techs on AOSU team, she’s quite knowledgeable and friendly, in the case normal customer support is unable to help

Sadly, until you get a firm confirmation, I’d recommend holding off purchasing that add-on to avoid disappointment or return issues.

All the best,
S.S

Thanks for clarifying! I was able to get answers from email and chat as well. Great customer service! Here is what I found if others have the same question:

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Yes, the link you shared and the camera in question can be added to a HomeBase.

Here’s a quick guide on camera compatibility with the HomeBase system:

:camera: Cameras that can be added to a HomeBase:

WirelessCam Lite – C6P

SolarCam System Max – C7P

WirelessCam System Max – C6S

SolarCam System Max – C7S

SolarCam D1 Classic Kit – C9C3CA11

SolarCam P1 SE System – C8E

:warning: Important Note:

A maximum of four cameras can be added to a single HomeBase.

If you need to connect more cameras, an additional HomeBase will be required.

We look forward to your response and are always here to help!

Let me know if you’d like this formatted as a graphic or included in an FAQ sheet!
