Hello. I recently installed four D1 Classic cameras at my house. I’ve noticed that when I turn off my mobile data, the cameras don’t record any events, and if something happens, I can’t see anything. I tested this by turning off mobile data and moving my car to a different location, and the app didn’t record or save anything. I understand that mobile data is unrelated to the Wi-Fi connection. Also, the aosubase unit only has 32GB of storage, and I’d like to expand it, but there’s no slot for an additional SD card. Any solutions to these issues? Thanks!
We currently offer three types of aosubase modules. You can distinguish them by checking the serial numbers on the bottom
:
1. Models starting with H1L are the earliest generation of aosubase modules. Older versions lack an SD card slot and cannot expand memory capacity.
2. Models starting with H2L are the second generation of aosubase modules. You can find the SD card slot on the back to insert an SD card. Currently, the largest supported SD card capacity is 1TB.
3. Models starting with H2E are our lasted aosuCortex modules. They support SSDs and can be expanded up to 32TB.
We hope this information helps you better understand our Aosu products and better meet your actual usage needs. Thank you for choosing Aosu! ![]()

Welcome @jonmarti69 to our amazing community!
Where can we purchase base units? The system I just started to set up my system and see that my base unit has fixed storage of 32 gb and no SD card slot. I’d like to upgrade.
Hello,
Based on your description, it sounds like your aosuBase may be the H1L model. The H2L is the version that supports storage expansion via an SD card.
At the moment, we do not offer the base unit as a standalone product for purchase. We understand that being able to upgrade the base separately would be helpful, and we will share your feedback with our team for future consideration.
At the current stage, there are two possible options you may consider:
- Activate cloud storage, which can provide additional storage for your recordings.
- If your camera model supports a microSD card, you may expand storage directly on the individual camera.
Thank you again for your feedback and suggestion. We truly appreciate it, and we’ll make sure to pass it along to the team.
Thank you. I guess I purchased an older unit.
I want to use my Amazon Alexa to display the Aosu cameras when they detect a person. The Alexa app says I can do this by setting up a routine using Alexa’s smart home capabilities. The cameras are linked to my Alexa, and they show up as accessible devices (I can view the cameras in the app on my phone). However, they do not show up under Alexa’s smart home capabilities. This is important to me. It’s the reason I purchased the cameras in the first place. Are Aosu cameras fully compatible and integrated with Amazon Alexa? I thought they were. Please help.
Thank you for sharing the details.
Regarding the issue where person detection cannot be used as an automation trigger in Alexa Routines , I will forward this to our team and check further for you.
Due to the holiday schedule, our office operations will be affected from May 1 to May 5 . I may need to get back to you around May 6 with a clearer update.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. In the meantime, our customer support team is still available through Live Support in the aosu App or by email at support@aosulife.com.
Best regards,
The aosu Team
