Removing the video doorbell for recharging

I have been following the videos online and using the supplied unlocking pin but I guess I don’t know the magic touch. Nothing I do releases the camera so I can remove it for recharging. Any ideas?

Could you let us know which model you are using? If possible, please send us a quick video showing how you’re using the pin. For physical issues like this, a video is the most effective tool for us to diagnose the problem and show you the right ‘touch’!

Thank you for your response but it is too cold right now (0deg) to do this. I think what I will do is recharge in place using a long USB-C cord from my nearby external outlet.

Hi tystevensin

I completely understand! 0°F/C is definitely too cold to be out there tinkering with a camera. Stay warm! :snowflake::hot_beverage:

Using a long USB-C cable to charge it in place is a creative workaround, but please keep a couple of things in mind for the best results:

  • Weather Sealing: Ensure the charging port is well-protected from moisture/snow while the cable is plugged in to avoid any short circuits.

When the weather warms up, we’d still love to help you master that “magic touch” with the pin. Whenever you’re ready, just send over that quick video and we’ll get it sorted!

Take care and stay cozy!

Best,

Thanks for the advice the doorbell camera is on a semi protected porch but will keep in mind your advice about making sure the charging port is weather protected.

Will send a video when the weather warms up if I can’t figure it out beforehand.
