The SD card in my sonnet is stuck. How can I release it without damaging the unit? Pushing it down does not release it. strong text
Step-by-Step Guide to Release a Stuck SD Card
- Power Off the Device
- If possible, unplug the unit or turn it off to avoid electrical damage or short-circuiting while you’re working.
- Use Gentle Pressure with Fingernail or Plastic Tool
- Sometimes, the card might be misaligned. Try using your fingernail or a plastic pry tool (e.g., a guitar pick or SIM ejector) to gently press in and slightly angle the card while pressing. Do not force it.
- Try Tweezers – Carefully
- If the card is partially ejected but stuck, use non-metal tweezers or fine-tipped plastic tweezers to gently wiggle and pull it out. Avoid metal tools to prevent shorting components.
- Check for Obstructions or Misalignment
- Use a flashlight to see if there’s dust, a broken pin, or if the card is slightly off-track. If so, lightly tap the unit (flat side down) on a soft surface to nudge it loose.
- Don’t Force It
- If it still won’t come out, forcing it may damage the slot or the mainboard. At this point, contact Aosu customer support for service or repair advice.
Do NOT:
- Use sharp metal objects (like knives or pins) that could damage internal components.
- Forcefully yank the card — this could damage both the card and the slot.
