Hi there. I got a new D1 SE Security Cam I setup in the Garage and everything is mostly great but I have one really annoying issue I’m hoping someone has some thoughts on.
The issue occurs when I have Night Vision setting as Color Night Vision.
In the evenings when it starts to get dark and it starts recording black and white the cam will trigger a motion false positive and turn on the light. 30 seconds later it turns off the light causing it to trigger another motion false positive and turn the light on. This cycle repeats every 30 seconds over and over with the cam light causing a motion event.
To stop this I can change the Night Vision settings to Black and White Vision and it no longer detects motion unless there is motion however as the cam light does not turn on I on longer get color recording.
Any thoughts why this is happening and how I can correct it? I really like the night recording in color when an event is triggered but I can’t have the cam self creating motion events every 30 seconds because of the light change
Color Night Vision relies on the spotlight turning on to provide enough light for full-color recording.
The camera’s motion detection (PIR or software-based) is triggered not just by people but also sudden light changes — like the spotlight turning on or off in a dark environment.
This loop continues unless real motion is detected to break the cycle, or the light never turns off.
Maybe you can try these:
Adjust Motion Sensitivity / Zones
Try lowering the motion sensitivity, especially for night time.
If available, set a motion activity zone focused only on areas where people would actually walk — not where the spotlight affects the scene most dramatically.
Enable “Human-Only” Detection (if supported)
If your D1 SE has AI human detection, enable it and disable general motion.
This prevents light-triggered events from being registered as motion.
I hope the above solutions can help you.If possible , you might consider submitting that feedback to aosu support directly in the app
