Hi. I am setting up my AOSU and got the camera connected to home base and picture shows. The home base is offline and I can’t get it to go online. It says its loading picture, prompts to switch mode, then it times out. I’ve tried to redo set up by 1. unplugging the unit and redoing, 2. putting it closer to the router; 3. and putting in memory card to see if that resolves issue. SO FAR NOTHING NADA ZIP! Please help.
It sounds like your camera is connecting just fine, but the home base is having trouble going online. Since you’ve already tried some great initial steps (restarting, moving it closer to the router, inserting a memory card), here are a few more things to try:
- Check Internet Connection: Make sure your Wi-Fi network is stable and not overloaded. If possible, try connecting another device near the home base to see if the internet is working well in that spot.
- Ethernet Option (if available): If your home base supports a wired connection, try plugging it directly into your router via Ethernet. This can sometimes help with initial syncing and firmware updates.
- Reset Home Base: There may be a small reset button (often using a pin or paperclip) press and hold it for about 10–15 seconds to do a full reset, then go through the setup process again from scratch.
- Firmware Update: If you do manage to get it online for even a few seconds, check if a firmware update is available. Sometimes setup issues are resolved in the latest version.
- Different Wi-Fi Band: If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, make sure the home base is connecting to the 2.4GHz network, AOSU devices don’t support 5GHz
