Solar panels

What is considered “direct” sunlight for the solar panel to work. My cameras (C9C) are in full daylight, not obstructed, on a sunny blue sky day, but do not charge. I guess they’re not facing directly at the sun, but the should be receiving plenty of light. I have other solar cameras that even work indoors with the solar panel facing out the window, not directly at the sun.

Direct sunlight typically means that the solar panels are oriented such that they are perpendicular to the suns rays.

Of course, this will not be true all day since the sun moves across the sky. Since the sun is closest/most powerful in the early afternoon, that is usually when it is recommended to set the orientation. Note that the sun is lower in the sky during winter months and provides less power.
