:deciduous_tree:Round 13 , better understand your solar camera charging!

Let’s go through a quick check together to better understand why your solar camera might not be charging.

Imagine this scenario:
“Your camera is installed under the roof eaves, facing your backyard. The solar panel is placed on the wall just above the camera. There are some tree branches nearby, and during parts of the day, the area is shaded. You’ve noticed that even on sunny days, the battery percentage doesn’t go up.”

Sounds like the Aosu solar panel attached to the Camera isn’t getting enough direct sunlight. If it’s shaded by the eaves or nearby branches for most of the day, it won’t charge the battery properly—even if it seems sunny out. Solar cameras really need full, unobstructed sun to work well. I’d try repositioning the Solar panel where it gets direct and maximum solid sunlight for several hours daily.

I believe the tree branches and angle of the solar panel are creating the issue of not charging fully even on sunny days. Based on the time of the year, angle of the sun and the amount of tree coverage. My solution would be to reposition the solar panel and perhaps trim the trees as an added bonus.

Make sure that the solar panel is positioned to receive direct sunlight and is not obstructed by eaves, tree leaves, or other shadows. Try to reduce Camera Activations: Frequent motion triggers can cause the camera to wake up often, increasing power consumption. You may also consider adjusting the camera’s angle to avoid high-traffic areas, or lower the sensitivity settings to reduce the frequency of triggers.

If battery has drained out, please note it may take time to fully charge it. t0 aoind draining battery imit Live Viewing: Regularly viewing live feeds or playback can drain the battery. It’s advisable to access these features only when necessary.

Alternative Solar Panel Setup: If your device have a fixed solar panel that cannot be moved to a better sunlit area due to installation constraints, consider connecting an additional solar panel to improve charging efficiency. Good luck!
