HomeBase Wifi Setup

I purchased the kit with two outdoor solar cameras and a HomeBase. I set everything up with the ethernet connection between the HomeBase and my Starlink Mini. Can the HomeBase operate without the ethernet connection, only using wifi from the Starlink Mini?

Good day,

Yes, the AOSU HomeBase can run on Wi-Fi without the Ethernet connection, even with your Starlink Mini. You’ll just need to complete the initial setup using Ethernet first. Once that’s done and everything’s updated through the AOSU app, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable and switch the HomeBase to Wi-Fi.

It supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so your Starlink Mini’s wireless signal should work fine, just make sure the HomeBase is placed somewhere with a strong Wi-Fi connection.

Let me know if you run into any issues setting it up.

All the best,
S.S

Yes, your AOSU HomeBase can operate without an Ethernet connection, using Wi-Fi only, but with some important considerations:

:white_check_mark: Wi-Fi Support for HomeBase
The AOSU HomeBase does support Wi-Fi, which allows it to connect wirelessly to your network after initial setup.

:electric_plug: Initial Setup Requirement
Ethernet is required during first-time setup to establish and bind the HomeBase to your account.

Once the HomeBase is successfully added and updated, you can switch it to Wi-Fi mode.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: How to Switch HomeBase to Wi-Fi
Keep the HomeBase connected via Ethernet.

Open the AOSU app → Go to HomeBase settings.

Look for Network Settings or Wi-Fi Settings.

Choose your Starlink Mini’s Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Once Wi-Fi is configured and connected successfully, you can remove the Ethernet cable.

:warning: Note: Do not unplug the Ethernet before the Wi-Fi connection is fully established — otherwise, the HomeBase will lose connection.

:globe_with_meridians: Starlink Mini Compatibility Notes
Starlink Mini uses dual-band Wi-Fi — if possible, connect the HomeBase to the 2.4GHz band, which has better range and stability for IoT devices.

Make sure Starlink isn’t using any network isolation or MAC filtering, which might block HomeBase from rejoining via Wi-Fi.

I have the AOSU app for Android 4.2.55 and under settings there is no network or wifi settings!
