No tilt control

My SolarCam D1 Classic has no tilt control. The pan control works fine; however, when I use the PTZ navigation control, the tilt will not respond. I already reset the camera and got the same result.

When I try to move the lens head up and down gently by hand I noticed there is not much resistance to motion, like the gears are not engaged.

Contact aosu Life support they can resolve the issue for you, I had one camera similar moved up and down but did not do side to side found out it was an malfunction camera if you tried every step they asked try and see if they will cover as warranty, do not take the camera apart or anything or you will avoid the warranty please let aosu handle and take care of it, try and reinstall the camera or re connect to the wifi or do a full reset.

Hi , I have 4 D1 cameras in use for 2 years. 3 of the 4 stopped panning within a week of each other, LOL. None of the reset tricks worked and they are out of warranty, I decided to open them up to see what I can ruin. Funny, I fixed all 3. 2 had broken wires due to possibly rotational binding and the 3rd had a self destructing motor. I was impressed by the interior quality and component layout, in my mind they did quite well for 2 years (extreme heat and rain. I’ll buy 5 or 6 more in the near future.

That’s actually a pretty impressive teardown and repair result :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Really appreciate you taking the time to share what you found inside the D1 cameras after opening them up.

The details about the broken wires and failed motor are especially interesting, and it’s also great to hear your feedback on the internal build quality and component layout. Real long-term usage feedback like this is incredibly valuable for both the community and the product team.

Glad to hear you were able to bring all 3 cameras back to life, even with one involving a motor issue :joy:

Honestly, we’re also pretty impressed by your DIY skills and curiosity. People like you who enjoy exploring how products work often provide incredibly valuable real-world insights.
