I’ve got the home base and 2 camera combo. 1 camera charges correctly the other is stuck at 4% and goes no higher despite trying changing cables etc. Catch 22 is it won’t upload the latest firmware because it doesn’t have enough battery power! So can’t check if it’s a firmware issue.
I think I need a replacement.
Good day,
I understand your concern: one of your cameras is stuck at 4% charge and unable to update its firmware due to low battery. That’s understandably frustrating, and I appreciate you taking the time to try different cables and chargers already.
Here are some possible reasons and what can be tried for your situation:
1. Battery Calibration or Deep Discharge
Sometimes, if the camera battery has deeply discharged, it may take longer to show any progress while charging.
Please try the following:
- Connect the camera to a wall outlet using a 5V/2A (or higher) power adapter and a verified working cable.
- Leave it charging for at least 6–8 hours, even if the percentage doesn’t change.
- After that, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to reset the device and check if the charge level improves.
2. Firmware Loop Issue
As you noted, the firmware requires the battery to reach a minimum threshold to install — which can create a loop where a firmware fix is needed but can’t be applied due to low charge. We’re actively working on improving this in future updates.
3. Possible Hardware Fault
If charging still fails after the above steps, the issue may be with the internal battery or charging circuitry.
If the issue persists, please contact aosu support via the app. Within your report to Aosu customer support, please include your full name, the troubleshooting methods you tried, your device serial number and type of security camera.
All the best,
